Obedience - Agility

Q. What is Dog Obedience Training?
A. Obedience training should be fun for everyone. By teaching obedience commands such as: Sit, Stay, Come and Down, your are opening up the lines of communication between you and your dog, and building a wonderful rapport and bonding experience with your pet.

We want you dong to become a well-behaved and trusted family member. For puppies and rescue dogs, obedience training can also be a great self-confidence builder by allowing them to socialize with other people and dogs in a controlled environment.

Obedience classes are for ALL ages of dogs and people! If you have taken a class previously through another organization, our classes will seem very different, especially with the amount of individual attention that you will receive.

YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO STOP BY AND OBSERVE ANY OF OUR OBEDIENCE OR AGILITY CLASSES. Just call for times and directions.

Q. What is Dog Agility Training?
A. Agility is a sport in which dogs competitively race through an obstacle course, with their owners or handlers along side them offering encouragement all the way! Dogs jump over hurdles, climb on an A-Frame, tip the teeter-totter, weave through poles, and run through tunnels, in order to complete the course in the fastest time.

Agility training is beneficial for dogs that have a lot of energy to burn or are bored with their daily routine. It is also extremely beneficial for dogs who are shy or fearful, building confidence in themselves and handlers.

Dogs should be in good physical condition and be at least 7 months of age. All breeds and breed mixes can participate and complete.

Dogs who participate in Agility training should have an understanding of basic obedience commands such as sit, down, come and stay. They DO NOT have to have perfect skills, however their handlers should be able to easily control their dogs.
