Class Information




Puppy Class - For puppies 3 to 6 1/2 months old. ALL family members are welcome to attend and participate in the classes. The emphasis will be on learning commands such as sit, down, come , stay, "OFF" (don't touch), street boundary and socialization and handling. These classes use food and praise. There is time at the end of class to discuss behavior problems you may be having at home such as housetraining, chewing, etc…

Novice Class - This class is for dogs 7 months and older. All family members are welcome to attend and participate in the class. The commands that will be learned are sit, down, emergency come, stay, walk on a loose lead with handler, place (stay on mat or bed while in the house) and street boundary. At the end of each class there will be time to discuss behavior problems such as jumping on people, barking etc…

Beginning Agility - This class introduces dogs to all agility obstacles. Dogs learn to jump, walk up and down the A-Frame, tip the Teeter Totter, weave through poles, and run thruogh tunnels. Introduces dogs to "tarets", contacts and some basic hankling sklls. Classes are one hour each week, scheduled in six-week sessions.

Intermediate Agility - This class teaches dogs and handlers how to put obstacles and jumps together. They learn handing and navigation techniques and skills. Classes stress teamwork, exercise and off-leash control. Classes are one hour each wee, scheduled in six-week sessions.

Canine Good Citizen - This class is for dogs and students who have completed the "Novice" class and would like to obtain the AKC "Canine Good Citizen" certificate. This class will expand on the skills previously leaned and will introduce the requirements of the certification. This certificate demonstrates dog and handler have knowledge of obedience commands and dog is of a good temperament with other people and dogs. Many of the people who obtain this certificate go on to participate in "Pet Therapy" with their dogs. Dogs earning this certification may be purebred or mixed breed and older then 6 months of age.
