Q. How much does it cost?
A. A six-week session of one-hour classes is $95.00 in Carlsbad, and $110.00 in Marina del Rey. Private In-Home training is $95.00 for the first hour and a half lesson, and $85.00 for additional one-hour private training sessions.
Q. How many puppies and dogs are there in a class?
A. In Carlsbad there are up to 6 in a class. In Marina del Rey there are a maximum of 10 in a class.
Q. What happens if I miss a class?
A. You can always make up a class at no charge. A new class session starts about every four to six weeks.
Q. What if I need more than one class?
A. If you need to repeat the same class it will be half price. Some people have done this up to three times!
Q. Can I begin my puppy even if my puppy has not received all of his/her shots?
A. Absolutely, YES! In almost all cases, if the puppy has received first shots and is in good health, this should suffice to ensure protection against Parvovirus and Distemper.
Q. What training methods are used?
A. For all beginning classes and students we use positive reinforcement (food and praise). No choke chains or pinch collars are use or retractable leashes. Calm pleasant voices are to be used, NEVER any yelling or harsh tones. We will be happy to show you the technique to even replace the word "NO". For private students with dogs with more serious behavior problems, a discussion of other options will be evaluated and considered.
Q. How much time will I have to spend working with my dog to see results?
A. Most training should be done on your daily walk(s). About 15 minutes at a time if possible twice a day. As many different people from the same household are encouraged to participate, especially children.
Q. How do I enroll?
A. Please call us or Email us at correctapet@sbcglobal.net and leave your mailing address, we will promptly send you the sign up materials. To hold a spot in the class you will need to send a check for the full class session fee, however we will not cash the check until the first day of the class. Weekend classes fill up very quickly so please try to register early.
